DOES GOD PUNISH SIN?

'' 2 O Jehovah, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear? I cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save. 3 Why dost thou show me iniquity, and look upon perverseness? for destruction and violence are before me; and there is strife, and contention riseth up. 4 Therefore the law is slacked, and justice doth never go forth; for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore justice goeth forth perverted.'' Habakkuk 1:2-4

How many people feel as though they can identify with Habakkuks complaint? What he didn't understand through it all is that God was preparing a judgement for the wicked using the wicked. How ironic that they fall prey to their own ways.

When we look around us at this world we see people who quite often appear to do evil and thrive beause of it. We see this and wonder if God is blind, or maybe we wonder if He really cares. If He is a just God why does He allow this to happen unpunished?

The answer is that God sees and has worked a punishment for the wicked that we don't always understand or see coming. It is always effective and always appropriate to the sin.
